tania the motivational speaker, vocalist and cultural performer
Since Tania was a child she has been performing, and for 20 years she has been promoting the beauty of her birth country Jamaica, through stand up comedy, theatre, singing, dancing, dialect poem and folk songs. She performs at festivals, and for various special groups in Toronto and surrounding areas. She is asked to speak and sing at various women's groups, and cultural organizations.
Also, she performs at weddings and special functions - lovingly known as Miss Tania Lou, as she does a great impersonation of the International Jamaican cultural icon and folklorist - Hon. Dr. Louise Bennett-Coverley, who has promoted the Jamaican language Patois and culture through various art forms. Tania continues this legacy, and she is known to don the beautiful Jamaican nationalware - the madras dress, whenever she goes to perform.
Tania believes in unity among cultures, and as a proud Canadian citizen, she promotes oneness through extolling the beauty of her new homeland and her birth country. She likes to see people `buss dem belly with laugh.`Just recently Tania has been invited by McMaster University Library and Harbour Front Centre to perform and mingle with the crowd as a Miss Lou performer and impersonator, at the Miss Lou Centenary Birthday Celebrations in Toronto at Miss Lou`s Room in Harbour Front Centre. She was asked to MC and be Ringmaster for the Amazing Race - Caribbean Style at the Caribbean Street Food Festival, that drew thousands of people. She continues to get many invites. Never a dull moment for Tania!
All in all, Tania gives the very best of herself, whether she is teaching, writing, speaking or performing. If you would like to book Tania for a special event, kindly call her at 289-442-1857 or email her at taniahernandez695@yahoo.ca. She aspires to inspire!
